What is the opinion of Hardware Unboxed regarding Nvidia's planned obsolescence in effect, as evidenced by the performance demands of The Last of Us Part I resulting in the demise of 8GB GPUs?

I was called stupid for buying a 6800 non-XT over a 3070 on a largely Nvidia-favoring forum at the end of 2023. I've never been disappointed with chatrandom echat my GPU.
