Paralyzed Marine Walks to Receive Bronze Star with Robotic Leg Braces
Marine Capt. Derek Herrera (Ret.) was paralyzed from the chest down when he was hit by a sniper's bullet while on patrol in Afghanistan in 2012. On Friday at Camp Pendleton, Herrera amazingly walked to receive a Bronze Star for his heroic actions that day, using the help of high-tech robotic leg braces.
