Human Trafficking reports on the rise - Houston Chronicle

Calls to a national hotline of reports on human trafficking rose 35 percent last year, according to data released this week by the non-profit Polaris. In 2016, the group says it learned of 8,042 cases of sexual or labor exploitation known as modern day slavery from calls and texts, according to information released on its website.
